RECRUITMENT
Educational Background
Since Indonesian is an archipelago, geographicallywell situated near water, explain the maritime instinc of its people. Althought the older generation of Indonesian seafarers became skilled traditionally through experience, the younger newcomers acquire their skills through formal education and training to obtain Internationally required seafarers certification.
MEDICAL
All joining crew members returning or new hires are subject to a throught Pre-Employment Medical Exanination by an accredited and specialized Medical Institution under Supervision the ministry of Health. All Crew members are required to pass the medical guidelines set by the principals.
TRAINING / FORMAL SCHOOL
all deck and Engine Crewmembers have passed the required courses and llicensing prior to shipboard engagements. Hotel Personel are eveluated on experience gained from hotel experience and formal training accredited Hotel / Tourism school. All categories of shipboard personel are required to hold certificates for their correspponding positions as required by the International Maritime Organization.
IN-HOUSE TRAINING
All deployed seafarers are subject to pre-departure orientation briefings with focus on communication barriess, shipboard life, health and sanitation as well as port and hos country regulaions. PANATRA DAMAS P.T. is currently organizing an in house Training program which aim into upgrading seafarer's skills and abilities. Deployed seafarers are given the company's booklets to be as guidance in their duties. Couorses will include effectiveseervice in stewarding and other required hotel knowledge. This particular training will be designed following United States Public Health (U.S.P.H.) Standards. However, due to the high need of upgrading the English Proficiency of the seafarers, the Company commenced developing are Modular CD-Rom based course specially designed to all prospective candidates who have displaye potential and interest capability.
